Must-Have Gadgets: See Clearly in Total Darkness

Described as the must have gadget at the Southampton Boat Show, the new hand-held thermal imaging camera from Raymarine is the perfect gadget for sailors, power boaters, or anyone thinking of an adventurous expedition.

The Raymarine TH24 and TH32 thermal cameras are lightweight (weighing just 340g they’re equivalent to holding a jar of jam), compact, easy-to-use and an essential piece of safety kit. These rugged all-weather thermal imaging cameras enable you to see clearly for up to one kilometre, even in complete darkness.

The Raymarine TH series thermal camera makes pictures from heat - rather than light. As everything, even ice, has a ‘thermal’ print, objects show up through the thermal energy they emit.  Using FLIR thermal imaging technology the hand-held cameras allow users to see landmarks, bridge abutments, rocks, buoys, floating debris and other vessels clearly in complete darkness. The thermal night vision capability also enables you to locate people in the water.

With a simple three button operation and a built-in LED task light, the Raymarine camera is easy to use when on the move. An internal camera (Li-lon) battery provides the power, and there is a USB cable to charge the battery when not in use.
